A community of male-voice singers who sing for health and joy: we are the Victoria Arion Male Choir. Our history goes back to 1893 when the Arion Club of Victoria gave its first public concert. Our mission is to maintain the great tradition of male-voice choral music, and to share that music through two or more public concerts each year. The choir also performs at senior residences, and the Victoria Remembrance Day ceremony at the BC Legislature.
VAMC supports music education through our choral scholarship program, which allows up to four student musicians to sing with us each year. We welcome new members: come and share with us the joy of male choral music!

The Victoria Arion Male Choir was formed in 2018 after the Arion Male Voice Choir founded in 1892 and the Victoria Male Voice Choir with roots back to 1908 decided to merge. The two choirs came to the realization that they could better fulfill their dreams of being “a community of men singing for health and joy” as one group rather than two. It is an exciting new venture which is already proving to be a great success both musically and organizationally.
We are currently under the music direction of Sean Lampard-Quicke who joined us for the 2020-2021 season and our accompanist Jennifer Mitchell. The choir before Covid 19 usually did two community concerts and a number of care home concerts. Currently we are holding practices on Zoom with the hope to do a concert virtually that can be sent to the senior homes. The choir in the new year would like to be able to practice and perform concerts in person.
Our repertoire embraces a wide range of musical styles including spirituals, classical, Broadway, folk, rock and pop. We are an amateur non-audition choir that offers participation and training in vocal arts. The choir also supports choral scholars.
The Victoria Arion Male Choir ( Society) is the not-for profit organization (with Registered Charity Status) that oversees the Victoria Arion Male Choir. We invite you to join our other supporters and build a connection with our choir and audience as a sponsor or donor.
